Default BFG KDW2's in the snow?

I live in NJ. The past few winters here have not been that bad.
I need new tires and was thinking about the BFG KDW2's.
Anyone ever drive in the snow with these? The Mustang is my daily driver.
Thanks for the info

They'll be fine in the dry and ok in the rain, but the first time you get a little bit of snow or ice you're gonna be dead in the water. They're classed as an ultra high performance summer. You need something in an all season class for use during the winter. High performance or ultra high performance all season will work all year round. Or you could use all seasons(or a winter tire) in the winter during bad weather and run an hp or uhp summer tire when weather is good.

The best all season tire cant touch the worst snow tire. It is a huge difference. You really should just buy some used Mustang wheels, in a smaller size and put some good snow tires on them. I just bought some and I am saving for the tires now. I always heard people talking about how much better they were but always just had all seasons, until a couple of years ago. I will not go back to all seasons in the snow. I had Blizzaks on my last car and they were great. I have read good things about the Hankook I Pike, General Altimax Artic as well.

I've heard bad, BAD things about running a summer tire in sub freezing temperatures. The compound gets rock hard. The car can get squirrely in a major hurry on you.

I wouldn't do it. But it's your car. Risk it if you want. I've read enough stories to know mine is staying in the garage.

Most summer tires aren't designed to operate under 40* F, so they suck badly in the winter, even if the road is dry. True winter tires are the best to use on snow/ice but will get tore up rather quickly if run continuously on dry pavement. If you live in an area where you only get periodic light snow, then an all season would be fine. If you get regular light/heavy snow then winter tires. Ideally you want multiple tire sets...winter tires for ice/snow, good all-seasons for rain and dry winter driving(on cold roads) and summer tires for warm weather.
