differences between models
What's goin on guys? I'm looking to buy a new car. I want to get a mustang (99-04) model and i'm not sure which one to get. What are the differences between the gt, roush stage 2, saleen, bullitt, and mach 1 models specwise? Do they have anything different under the hood compared to a gt? Thanks for your replies...

GT is a right off the lot car. Your basic 260 hp SOHC 4.6L V8.
Bullitt is an upgrade. Better suspenion, bigger brakes, better flowing upper intake, wheels, and a few body style / interior changes to set it off from the GT.
Mach 1 is another "off the lot" improvement. The 4 cam 4.6L makes much better power than the stock SOHC 4.6L. Also had a lot of style and performance parts to make it a leap ahead of the basic GT,
Roush Stage 2 is a stock GT motor with cold air intake and exhaust for the only gains in hp/tq. It's mostly a handling set up. Roush suspension and brakes, wheels, body kit, interior. It's the Stage 3 that gets the real power bump in these cars. S3 is supercharged.
Saleen - similar to Roush in what gets changed. It depends on what kind of Saleen you are looking at. Some are suspension and brakes, while high end ones give you enough power to melt the back rubber off.
Lots of people will tell you that Saleen and Roush cars are an expensive name and nothing more. Somewhat true, but you are getting a quality product for your money.
Year will also matter with the Saleen/Roush cars. Different years had different options to them.
