Default How long to wait on vinyl dry time?

Hi all,
So I just got my vinyl stripe kit, but between work and school I don't have a lot of time for installation. I figure I could do it piece by piece, but I lay a section of stripes down by say 11 or 12 oclock, would The car be good to drive at 6?

Thanks!

Are you doing it wet or dry? If wet-make sure the app. fluid if completely removed from under the vinyl. If dry- good to go. Use denatured alcohol to remove any wax residue before you apply the vinyl, otherwise it can (wont always, in fact rare) start to peel up. you shouldnt have to wait any time after either method though.

I'm doing them wet, way too risky to do em dry w/ only one shot.

As long as you get all the fluid removed from under the vinyl, you should be able to run it immediately with no problems. Otherwise 1hr in the sun should suffice.

at least 2 days until you can wash it, an hour in the sun until you can drive as stated above.

imo, i would not do it yourself, have someone do it for you who is a professional. it is very hard to get it done right yourself. (speaking from experience)

If you are installing wet its very easy to do yourself. Just lay the vinyl out on the car where you want it and tape it down in a few places. Then cut the tape very neatly along the edge of the decal leaving part on the car and part on the masking. Then you just line up the tape pieces again as you apply the vinyl.

thats a good idea, I was planning on just putting a 2in stripe of masking tape down the center of the car and lining the stripes up on it.

That will work too, just make sure everything is straight and evenly spaced on center before you stick the vinyl.
