Default water pump question

what is the difference in a water pump for 1986-93 for a 5.0 mustang vs. the water pump for 1985 5.0.

part store has the water pump for 86-93 is in stock but not for the 85.

i got a 90 gt with a motor and trans out of a 84 gt. i know it will bolt up just didnt know if there was a difference in water flow or something.

The difference in pumps throughout the small block Fords are which side the hose inlet is on and whether it's standard or reverse rotation. It's probably that 86 was the first year they used a reverse rotation pump. I can't remember for certain though.

It could be the radiator inlet then, the outlet and the rad was on different sides so the inlet and the water pump switched as well. But I thought that switch was made in the 70's.
