Key problems
Today when i tried to go run an arrond in my '92 Mustang, i could not get the key to turn. I tried shacking the steering wheel and everything.. But to a closer look, it looks like the key is not going in all the way.. It looks like it need to go in a lil 3/16 inch or a little bit more.. How should i trouble shoot this? Is it ok to spray a small amount of WD-40 in there? My dad saw in one of our Mustang books that they had a recall on '88-92 and some early '93s on the ignitions switch, does this have to do anything with my problem? Any help would be great.. Thanks

I think that we decided that it is most likely a pin that has broke on the inside. Thats ok i guess, Just one thing. Before we can take it out, it has to be in the start position... Things is, we cant get it there. So does that mean i have to take off the whole assembaly around it? Thanks for any help

Maybe something got shoved into the key slot & is jammed in there? Shine a flashlight into the slot maybe you can see something in there & snag it with a piece of wire or something..
I think that recall was for a circuit board fault in the column, and was causing dashboard fires. If your car was one on the recall list then go to Ford now & get that checked & fixed for free.
