Default Installilng Airbags

Hello, I'm new to this forum and I need to start of with a question: I bought a 98 mustang and it was in a car accident, so the airbags had detonated. I already replaced them but I haven't connected them to the airbag controller thing (I bought a new one) and I left the sensors that were already there in. The point being that I need to know if it's ok to just connect the new airbags to the controller with the sensors that were in the previous crash, because I don't want to connect them just to have them detonate all over again, which would be a waste of like $800, and that would suck. Any input is helpful, thanks.

Call a Ford Dealership that has a Service dept.
With whatever advice they may give you, you should always dissconnect the battery.

Aside from that I dont know too much more about it.

Be very careful when tampering with airbags, they are dangerous and should only be installed by a professional.

They arent that bad. Just make sure you disconnect the battery for atleast 2 minutes to clear out the airbags. Im not sure about which sensor you are talking about but the one behind the radio and cd player has to be changed out or your air bag light will still be on. As for the front sensors they should reset themselves and all you have to do is take off the drivers airbag and to take off the passenger air bag its easier if you remove the glove box. Just dont do anything you wouldnt do to bomb....hahha but really they are a pretty easy install.

I agree they are pretty straight forward. I was scared to death on my first airbags that I replaced but it turned out to be very easy to do.
