95 rear end swap
I have a 95 v6 that I have dropped in a cobra 5.0 into. I have the AODE trans and the 7" rear. Ihave the opportunity to purchase a 2003 cobra IRS rear end with 3.55 gears, is it a straight swap? How will 3.55's feel compared to the 3.08's I have now? ??????????

Mmmm. Honestly you shouldnt go with the Cobra IRS unless you plan on beefing it up (Because they are weak stock) and are going to be road racing because they arent very good for drag racing.
I know thats not the answer that you wanted but here is the answer, yes it will fit and bolt up with the exception of a few minor things such as ABS crap (If you dont have it) and a few other small things that I dont really know too much about because I havnt done the swap myself, instead I went with a 94' GT Trac-Lok rear with 2.73 stock gears then put an Auburn Torsen Diff in it with 4.11 gears and removed the quad shocks (Thanks to the advice of this forum) and installed Hi-Jacker lower controlls and tubular upper controll arms along with Tokico adjustable shocks and still deciding on my springs. Thats the best bite for your buck. About $800 for the entire setup.
I was thinking of going with a IRS setup too in my 95' untill I found out all the crap about them and how costly they are too. I bought my ENTIRE rear end for $46 bux from Pick-N-Pull but I got the good deal because I work there. Normally its about $230 bux or some crap like that but still very cheap. The rear suspension hasnt changed much in the last years since 79' to now. I would suggest going to www.picknpull.com and finding the closest location and then scouting them out for Mustang parts.
So yes it will work (But get a manual and more advice) but I wouldnt do it myself.

Oh, the 3.55's will put you in your seat a little more, there is a notticable difference but as for speed and lap times, i dont have those numbers. For your car you should get some 3.73's because those work great with the Grunt of a 5.0 Cobra motor.
For my 03' Mach1 5.0 Stroker a 4.11 gear is needed because just like the 351C 4V's of the day they flow MASSIVE amounts of air but because of the lack of velocity at lower RPMS the low end isnt there as much as it would be on a 4.6 2V or 5.0 but that can be fixed with a number of things including but not limited to gears
3.73's will be the best seat of your pants, time slip improving Happy-Go-Joy-Joy mod you will do. Of course you have to factor in the size of your rims/tires too
