Other people on the forum have said Armorall will cause dry rot and is HORRIBLE for vert tops. The best thing is Gojo hand cleaner because of all the oils. At least that is what I've read about 2000 times on this board!

Scotchguard is really a good product. I use it on my kitchen chair pads and I have used it to waterproof my tent.

I wonder what it would do to my convertible top? When I get mine replaced, I am going to ask for some of the fabric old or new and see what happens to it.

Blue Magic has a good convertible top cleaner it's about 5 or 6 bucks a bottle and you can pick it up at your local Advance Auto parts

STAY...AWAY...FROM...ARMORALL! Long run use can cause dry rot on convertible tops and even tires, especially leather. I believe there are probably a fair share of lawsuits out there also. Number one, I suppose you are talking about a GT top and not a late model Cobra top. Cobra's have canvas tops and their care is all together different. I have a '98 GT vert (photos in members section of photo gallery under Deannostang) which actually tooks very similar to slit1776's above. I have a gold pony graphics package on mine that adds a little different distinction to the black lines. Anyway, with a vinyl top, I use one of Meguiar's new product lines "NXT", pronounced "Next" Generation ( http://www.meguiars.com/whatsnew/nxt05.cfm ). I find their Tech Protect to work wonderfully well on my GT's vinyl top. It lasts a very long time too, not to mention how it protects it from UV, acid rain, etc. Spray on, smooth out, then buff off excess with a terry towel. Looks great. The NXT line is their latest offering of newer synthetic technology. Meguiar's has been in the car wax and finish business for many, many years and used by body shops for generations. They know their stuff!

There is also many other choices out there. Check out this site: http://www.autogeek.net/vicotopmapr.html
