auto or stick?
60 ft?
times will also vary throughout the country with altitude, track conditions, etc.

I believe an auto should be in the high 14's and the stick should be very low 14's, stock.

for the average driver those times are about right. reaction time doesnt mean ****. you can sit there for 5 seconds after the light turns green and it doesn't count against your score.

I'm not familiar with what the newer cars are supposed to run in the 1/4 in basicly stock form but a 15.4 actually sounds about average for any stocker to me. If it's supposed to be quicker you could be short shifting it. That is, not letting the motor get to it's peak power output before you shift. Of course, you could also be going the other direction with it and going PAST the peak power output of the motor which would cause it to laydown a little bit before you shift.

its a 5 speed....horrible tires...(got ZR rated tires now)...i made 3 passes with it and that day was the first time i pushed it....i had a 97 v6 stang that ran 16 flat....it kinda made me angry when my best time was 15.4....lol...i cant remember my 60ft time.....but i do have better tires now so this spring im going to see if they make a difference....the track is in a high altitude and i was told trak times will differ.

Find your time ticket and report your 60 or short times. It will explain alot about your launch. Then you can either correct it with technique and/or tires.

Also report your trap speed. It will explain a pile about the power you are making. It will also tell whether you have potential to improve your short time.
