1987-1993 mustang. There is a black 8 pin plug on the drivers side of dash by the fuse box. It has thick wires in it. I cant figure out what it is for this is driving me nuts i have done all the research i can and still cant find out what it is for. here are most of the color wires: Gray/ black tracer, Pink/ orange tracer, Tan/ red tracer, Red/ blue tracer, black/ purple tracer, Purple/ orange tracer, blue/ yellow tracer. Any help would be great

 

A Haynes shop manual for your car should have a wiring diagram in the back. Use that to find out what those wires are for.
