95/cobra tps volts read 3.75 new and old ones the red and gray wire reads 3.75 +/brown/white reads 4.98 + gray reads 3.75 to 4.97 thats closed to wide open . i have been working on 5.0s for sometime now never had this problem be fore is the brown/white a ground and the red/gray + 4.98 the gray should read the out put your in put would help thanks

 

5v when the cars ignition is in the on position.. w/ engine off. signal voltage at idle should be around 1v and go up as you add throttle. full throttle you should be around 4.5v .

when your testing the v's do you have spikes?

TPS is not adjustable, may need replacement

 

the problem i am having is why is the brown/white wire shows to have 4.98 + it should be a - ground i have tried two new ones thay read 3.65 /3.58 and the old 1 read3.75 . now the $ ? why would the ground be reading a + / the red/gray should read 5. v+ but it only reads 3.75 v + / i have no ground- so what is wrong that i am not geting it's not my car a friends son's car thanks for all your help

 

Well of the 3 1 ground 1 reference 1 signal... maybe wait to see who else posts. Is there a chance the wires may be shorting out or misconnected?

 

i am thanking cut the 1 i thank is - and ground it the only problem is on the 95 cobra they changed the wire colors to brown/white /gray / gray/red it looks like the g/r is the ground the wires go from top to bottom g/r g brown/w so what u thank roll the dice thanks
