My Neighbor just gave me a present
I was outside talking to one of my other neighbor when the one across the street decided to give me a big fat kiss....I was standing 10 foot away and seen it all...He was trying to get out of the house before his wife knew he was leaving.......
Ive had this car for less then 2 months..Timing belt side lined me the exhaust went front Tranny seal and know this...My car is going to be another color..White cars seem to get dented up for me....Any ideas??I want to keep the LX look.......Mint black interior...
Looks pretty bad! Things you could do is get a police report, then get it fixed at a reputable body shop, make sure the body is straight too. Then write him a warning letter, if he doesn't pay you tell him you'll sue him for the amount plus any lost wages and legal costs, give him a deadline 7 days from the day of mailing, make a sertified mail. I've done this once, since I only had a PIP ensurance on my previous ford, a letter is all it took, the chick was calling me to arrange a payment before deadline.
On the same note, some moron left a ding in driver door on my mint 2001 GT. If I seen the guy do it, I'd probably kill him right there. What's better Ding King kit or Pop a Dent kit?

Ok heres the new deal..QUOTES..$1850 fixed with a junkyard door......$1485 with a gobbed bondo door.....What should I try for with the Insurance company???I havent yet had him tell his insurance company yet...He doesnt know about the qoutes....Thanks
your neighbor is trying to pretend he didn't hit you?? If he is, police report. If not, show him the junkyard door estimate and see if he'll pay for that and a rental car so you don't have to tell his insurance. unless you don't like him, then tell his insurance.
Hes a good guy he will pay/w Insurance or some cash...I guess the car was worth $1600 private party resale and $2800 suggested retail...I guess insurance companies will cover up to 75%...Not to sure which value they go by..Maybe its better If its totaled....?
It's better to not report it, avoid higher rates. Fix it, pay for it yourself. Write your neighbor an official letter, asking him politely to pay, give him a dead line, by which if he does not pay you will file a small claims civil suit. If he is what you say he is, a good neighbor, he will pay.
Understand that you don't have to go through yours or his insurance company to get any damage fixed. By law you are not required. If you decide to fix it yourself, it is your decision and any judge will respect it.
Mentioned to him in the letter additional costs if you go to trial, including lost wages and legal fees. Trust me, you're going to get your money even if he says no screw you I'm not paying.
If however you too nice and want to go through insurance to cause less problems to your neighbor and more for you, know that you have a choice where you want it repaired. Insurance companies just provide money, they don't choose a repair shop for you.
