Hi everyone.
I need your opinon on gears please. I want either 373, 390 or 410. Keep in mind i have a 5 speed and will supercharge eventually. This car will also be a daily driver. The only other mod i plan on doing is the supercharger after the gears. What gear do u think would be best for everyday use with a highway trip every now and agian but moslty city driving?
i figure either one will be a big difference due to the 3.31's i have.

I installed 410's a year ago without the thought of going Supercharged. Now that I've bought a Vortech V1 I'm kind reluctant to see how it goes.. What kind of Supercharger are you buying/ If you're going centrifigual you might get away with 410's but mostly everyone here is running 373's or even strock gears. If you're going to go with KB type super charger (twin screw) I would reccomend staying with stock gears or go no higher than 373's... Reason. Twin screw S/C's provide instant boost. So with 410's you will get no traction and you'll be left at light spinning. With a centrifigual S/C boost happens on higher RPM's. That's why I was saying, with some practice, 410's would be okay but if I were you, I would just stick to the stock or maybe 373's. Good luck..

 

Thanks for the advice bro. I was looking at getting the v3 vortech from brenspeed(the non intercooled cheapest one they have lol). Soldier i would love to know how you like the car when the supercharger is on the badboy. Does anyone have a supercharged stang with 410's? if so, mistake or are u smiling from ear to ear everyday.

have you considered doing the SC first, then see how steep you would want the gears to be after? because you may change your mind on tall gearing once your pushing 400 to the wheels.

 

Man i wish i could afford the sc now...unfortunatly wont be able to get the sc for at least a year. And i have the mod bug so i figure gears should do it, plus i can afford it. I just got used to the power i have i guess and she feels slow to me now so i have to do something. Yes i know i dont actually GET more power lol.
