Default Stange clutch grating sound

Hello, I have a question for you guys. My car is a 2001 v6 manual with about 55k miles on it. I have had the transmission completely replaced (new T/O bearing, new clutch, pressure plate, flywheel, new clutch cable, new piece that the throwout bearing rides on). Anyway, after all of this, I still have a strange noise coming from my clutch as I am depressing it at higher (about 2500+) rpms. It sounds like a grating or growling metal on metal type sound, almost like something scraping. I can "feel" this sound as well as I am pressing the clutch. This only happens at those rpms, and is extremely annoying (to me at least). Anyway, I was just wondering if this has happened to anyone else, or if maybe someone knows what the problem is. I would like to have it fixed not only for cosmetic reasons, but I am also worried that it might be hurting my car.

Thanks for the help guys, any reply is really appreciated.

Ryan

Are you sure the clutch is in right and not backwards or something??There isnt much that could make that noise unless its metal on metal

Yeah, pretty sure its in right. It was professionally installed twice (the second time was to replace the components of the clutch kit to make sure there were no bad parts).

I'm not sure how to check the tranny fluid, does anyone know how? Also, does a cable driven clutch even have tranny fluid, or is that only for hydraulics? Thanks for the help guys, if I could just pour some fluid in there, that would be a heck of a lot better than having to rip the whole thing apart again.

On the side of the tranny there is a plug that fits a half inch ratchet in it remove that and stick your finger in it if you can touch the fluid its fine if you cant you have to squeeze the fluid in threw that little hole. Its kinda a pain in the neck on the ground but it can be done with a tube on the end of the bottle. And yes the tranny has fluid put the clutch does not if its a cable, only hydraulic clutches have fluid
