Radio Help
So I got this 97 ford mustang v6 used and recently found out the factory rear 6x9 speakers were missing and the wire dangling from the trunk. I went and got some and tried to plug them in but low and behold the speakers didn't work. So I tried using a multimeter to see if there was even any power going through. There wasn't. And now I am stuck at a predicament where the wires that go to the back of the radio don't even match the ones in the user's manual. So would anyone have an idea which wires are what on that back of this connector. Thank you for anyone figures this mess out for me.
Easiest fix imo, just run new wire along the kick panels/around back seat. Before you do though I'd test the leads at the head unit. It may not just be the wires.

You can test the leads by the head unit using a little 9volt battery. Just touch the wires to each connector and you'll hear that corresponding speaker "crackle" a bit.
Does your head unit support front/rear speakers? Is there a front/rear fader control on it?

Yes it does have a front/rear fader. And Mook you just gave the same wiring schematics as what the manual says. They don't match up. Only light blue wire on that connector is got a red stripe not a gray one. I am pretty sure there is no power running to the wires that are in the back, but I don't exactly know which wires lead to the back of the radio to find out lol.
as for running wire along the kickpanel to head unit i need to know which wires in the head unit control the back speakers.....since the diagrams aren't matching what's back there it's quite a mystery. Any help would be appreciated
It doesn't matter if the car battery is connected or not.. the speaker wiring doesn't get affected by that. But still, if it makes you more comfortable then disconnect that battery.
Like I said, whenever you hit a lead with the 9v battery to any speaker you'll hear that speaker crackle a little bit. It won't do any damage but it will help identify the wiring.

The wires that are now visible to you on the open harness are power/ground and they are just what I posted-
Constant 12V+ Green/Yellow

One of those wrapped bundles holds-
Front Speakers
Left Front (+) Orange/Light Green
Left Front (-) Light Blue/White
Right Front (+) White/Light Green
Right Front (-) Dark Green/Orange
and the other holds-
Rear Speakers
Left Rear (+) Gray/Light Blue
Left Rear (-) Tan/Yellow
Right Rear (+) Orange/Red
Right Rear (-) Brown/Pink
