Default Car using to much gas.

I recently purchased my 2000 mustang gt. I noticed that is was using a lot of gas. I was wondering what could cause this problem. The car does have an aftermarket cold air intake system, could this be the problem? I checked with another person with a 94 mustang gt and he said that his car was not using a lot of gas. Can someone solve my problem?

How much gas is it using? How many miles can you go on a tank?

Could your foot be made of some sort of lead composite?

A little more info would be helpful here, ie how much mpg are you getting and how much are you getting per tank.
A cold air intake wont decrease your MPG unless the filter is dirty in which case you should just clean it.
Also change your Fuel Filter if you've never done that.
Change your oil if it's been a while for that too.
Check your tire pressure, if it's low that could be the problem.

I know when my engine was 100% stock I went on a 1200 mile road trip - prior to leaving I changed the oil, fuel filter, put the tires at the right PSI, and cleaned my air filter (prior to having a CAI) and I achieved 33MPG on 100% highway driving with a passenger and luggage too. Not very typical but it just shows that if those things are changed/fixed that your MPG can increase significantly
