Autolite HT0 gapping using tool but how?
Hi All
Hope someone can please help, I am just about to install a Whipple on my 05 GT and I have purchased 8 Autolite HT0 plugs but for the life of me I can't work out how to gap them to 0.32" I think they come pre gapped at 0.40" but need to reduce them a little more.
I purchased the correct tool for the job from JEGS http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/80594/10002/-1
But how exactly does it gap the end? Do I screw it in and set the screw and then use a wrench to twist it?
Any advice please?
Thank you
Stu

I've always just used a gap measuring tool and done it by hand. Just pushed the ground strap down against a hard surface until the gap is correct, or use a small screwdriver to open it(using VERY light pressure). One thing though, you want to make sure the surface on the inside of the ground strap is parallel to the electrode tip, or as close to parallel as you can get it.
