Well, I'm in the market for a Mustang no older than 2006. I prefer the GT but it's no big deal if I can't find one - and I really have no idea what to look for.

Any advice would be appreciated GREATLY

Thanks

you should be able to find a car its the price
v6s tend to be cheaper

you basically want to look for the same thing in a mustang as with any car you are buying used. just make sure you get a carfax and know the history of the car. just try and find a well maintained car. all the other options are up to your preference. as far as v6/v8 argument goes, it all depends on what you want to do with the car. insurance is going to be higher on a v8, especially if you are young. if you are just wanting a mustang to say you have a mustang, then you should just stick with a v6. the 05+ v6 stangs are still pretty quick. if you are looking for pure performance and something easy to get alot of power out of then the GT (v8) is a much better starting platform. it all depends on your reasons and goals for the car.

Thanks guys

Is there anything that can noticeably increase or decrease the value of the car, like Mustang specific options?

And as far as my goals for the car go... Well, I want to be noticed everywhere I drive. I want to have the classical All American Muscle Car. I want to take my car down to the car show every Saturday night and see the sparkle in little kids' eyes as they dream of what it'd be like to have my car.

Its an old fantasy of mine - a dream from years ago

That is the best feeling you can have, trust me. I took my car to a school event for the local Auto-tech high school. (I am not part of it, the car group I am with was asked to bring their Mustang's out to make kids want to get into cars). All the kids were around my car, they liked my car better than the 90K shelby GT500 vert, a GT 2011 Mustang, and a Barricade model mustang.

It is just a great feeling man.

crap,, I can't believe I just bumped a tread. My bad guys. This thread is old, crap. I just failed.

No big deal. You read it and replied. I just read it myself and replied. You are both dead on about the feeling you get from people looking your car over.
