I have been told that K&N is a no-no for a CAI. What do you guys think?

wait... you ask if its bad for your maf, then for a cai?

whats your question? and all aftermarket intakes come with a cotton filter, essentially the same as a K+N. its fine.

If you over oil the filter there is a possibility that you can foul up the wire on the sensor. That can and will make the car run bad. If you don't over oil you will be fine, if you do think the sensor is fouled then spray some electrical contact cleaner on a q-tip and wipe the wire down.

Agreed, after all Ford Racing sales the same set up albeit in a nicer package and with a nice Ford Racing logo on it so they can charge you more. No problem either way unless you over oil as has been stated.

Smile K&N problems

Sorry for the confusion. I just wanted to know if the K&N was a bad idea dor a CAI. I have been told that they screw up the the MAF. I gather you guys don't think it's a bad idea. Thanks for the advice.

thats from K+N though, theres no way to say the opinion is not bias'd.

but OP, its safe to say less than one percent of this forum has a paper filter on their car... if your that worried about an air filter you should probably think about your seriousness to modding your car, because thats literally one of the smallest mods you can do as far as performance goes.

I run a K&N in all my cars and never had any issues. I wouldnt worry about it. All they do is allow more air to flow through.

I have a K&N CAI and no issues. I even reoiled it with no problems. The MAF failures are user error or coincidences IMO
