Default Wanting to install oem rear camera

I ordered an 2011 mustang GT 5.0 convertible with the electronics package. When it came in I realized that I had forgot to order the backup camera. I noticed that the camera plug is located in the trunk lid. My question is: If I ordered an oem spoiler and oem camera could I just plug it in to make it work. Would the SYNC/screen need to be programed? I have seen other aftermarket options but I would rather stay with the oem. Thanks

Yes, it should work. If the plug is there it will work. And are you sure it's the camera plug? 'Cause if it's not it won't work.

And what about the screen part? Is it built into the stereo or do you need to also add the screen?

I'm not sure to be honest. id just take it to ford and ask them to do it with the factory option. prob run you more, but it will be a cleaner look.

Why would it be cleaner? It's all plug and play with exact tolerances...

I actually dint realize that the electronics package came with the nave screen already. as long as you have the screen, forget my last post. I'd still take it to ford so they can hook it up for you though.
I had been referring to installing an aftermarket screen and camera. the screen never looks as clean as the factory one that is made for your car, that's all.

Provided it has the software already in the system. It may not be set up to receive a signal from the rear camera, so you probably should ask the techs at Ford.
