Default LS1 in a Mustang wagon

I finally found a well-preserved '83 Marquis wagon (LTD) w/ V6. Unfortunately the trans is a 3 speed, not AOD. Since I'll be replacing both motor & tranny it makes sense to go w/ LS1+4L65E, probably from a GTO. Questions:

Anyone make motor mounts, or will fab be required? Would it be easier to use a tubular Kframe w/ Chev mounts? I'll keep stock manifolds.

And any tips on flaring the front fenders for wider tires/wheels? Eastwood roller didn't do much.

Hopefully flaming will be minimal since it's not a real Pony, just a Fox!

I don't know if it can be done, well, not without some fabrication of parts.

For example, you may have to mod your driveshaft to mount to the LS1's tranny.

The engine mounts? I doubt the LS1 will mount directly, and I doubt that there are aftermarket mounts to adapt it. So more fab work unfortunately. Same for the K-member.

Sorry to rain on your parade; the LS1 is a totally different beast.

GM yoke will be easy compared to the rest of it. Fitting an instrument cluster will be lots of fun. Can't find a chromoly, so I'll probably go with the AJE parts as per singe's post:

Yeah, they're very different - state of the art pushrod.
