does anyone know how to remove the deck lid emblem on a 2011 mustang? I can see where the emblem is held on by the two studs on the inside but cant get them it to come off?? i had the third brake light off and my hand all in the hole there. i just want to get it off so i can paint it black and put it right back on but its proving smarter than me at the moment.

 

I believe it is with tape....the studs are just for alignment if I remember reading correctly.

 

Use fishing string! Just thread it behind the fake wannabe rear gas cap and work the string like a garrote to the mounting studs, then work the string form the other side to the other mounting stud. It should be loose enough to pull off now.

 

sweet appreciate the info. i was looking at that and was thinking it didnt look like anything like a retaining stud and there were no nuts or clips on there.
