Which OBD Scanner?
Equus or Auto Tap, and why?
Does anyone know much about the Equus? It's a nice package, I know you can put data on the PC, but I don't know if it does it 'live' or if you have to record it and Then transfer it. If it's live, I get the option to bring my laptop, or not bring it.

The first one you list, the link is wrong. I assume you meant this. No experience with it. It will be missing the ABS info from the 3160´s though from a brief read of it´s description.
That last one (autotap) is just another Elm 327 clone. It´s only going to be as good as the software used on the PC/laptop. It might be that this product would be better to have than other advanced software interfaces due to it´s ¨intuitive¨ software troubleshooting, I can´t say for sure as I´ve never used it.
Were I to be forced to choose between the two, assuming your after easily diagnosed problems from one of these units, I´d go Auto Tap, hands down.
My preference for my personal application is one of the ones from either http://www.obdpros.com/ or http://www.scantool.net/ though. These are all live only tools. No on-device interfacing for flashing or storing, it´s using the device only as the interpreter for the software used.
I use the ODBLink from scantool, but my personal opinion is the clone is better hardware wise from odbpros, just the software options aren´t as good. Higher-end software for these things is what gets expensive. Even the lower end gets way over the price of the unit itself. They will however provide generic freeware software for basic interfacing and resetting of codes normally.

Equus or Auto Tap,I did not choose the two,I bought an OM580 from autophix.com. OM580 can record the testing process and replay the code reading, data stream testing and freeze frame testing. In otherwise, OM580 is 2.8-inch color screen, it displays more contents and has more comfortable visual sense.
