Default Overheating 2007 Mustang V6

Started off by water spewing out of the radiator water tank, changed the thermostat and the water tank cap. Seemed to be ok for a week then today smoke started coming from under the hood. No water spewing out but the water was boiling. Through all this the heat gage goes up to the mid way point and stays there, never goes higher, never goes lower. Also notice that at times the heater doesnt work. Any help? Thanks!

Mine just started doing the exact same thing. I've taken it to atleast 5 different shops multiple times. Nobody can figure out what the problem is. What did you do to fix it?

Sorry dude, the likely answer is head gasket leak if your symptoms match that guy's. Check your oil for coolant. If the actual engine temp were to be going up then I'd say obstruction, or water pump failure.

The v6's have a plastic thermostat housing that tends to fail/crack and leak coolant everywhere. But this seems pretty cut and dry if you're not seeing coolant in your driveway, it boiled over in your reservoir, etc..

That's what I was thinking too but I went to a ford dealership and they did a head gasket test. And its never been run hot when I've had it..

Then, that's not like his issue. That's hopefully just from crap in the system it's fighting against. Likely corrosion related(rust, etc). Only cheap fix I can think of to look at, assuming you've not already done so, is to flush the system. Preferably done by you or a friend, so it will actually be flushed throughly.

Its hard to explain over this haha. But every two weeks ish the temp goes up but that's when the coolant is completely out of the radiator I guess but when its not it just spews out of the cap.

Dont forget to 'burp' your coolant system.

My 06 was doing something similar and it ended up being the water pump
