89, 5.0, T5tranny.

I can shift into all gears at any rpm fine except 2nd.

I have to let the engine idle go down in order for 2nd not to grind. I tightened my clutch cable but it made no difference. I can start out in second fine, no vibration or grinding. but i cant launch and go from 1st to 2nd at all. Gears are spinning too fast.

any ideas.

 

You need to get the synchro's replaced. Basically a tranny rebuild.
