No. Cam sensors are used for multi port injection events. However, A/F ratio map is based on rpm and throttle position. Throw rpm off and you have your injection firing at the wrong time.

OK,but how is RPM and throttle position thrown off by a timing adjuster.The RPM will still be the same and throttle position will be shown by the TPS.I see an opportunity,on my part,for education here.The T/A will still spin at the same RPM without regard to crank position and the throttle position will still be shown by the TPS.The only thing that changed was the timing.BTW we need to start a new thread on this.Chasing ones and zeros through the Ford maze would be productive to everyone.
