i just bought a 2003 mach 1 with 15000 miles. im looking to do some mods to it in terms of bolt on, not lookin to supercharge it or turbo, but possibly prep it for that, some suggestions on items and brandnames to go with. duno if it matters but it is a 5 speed and completly stock as of now.

 

Gears,exhaust,and a air filter to start.You will see a nice gain from that and it should all be done for under a grand

 

doubt if exhaust is possible under a grand, think headers, down pipes, x-pipe, and catback.

 

Subframes. Stiffen that baby up before putting power to it

 

doesn't the mach have some sort of subframe connectors already? Anyway, the first thing I would do is get rid of the stock midpipe and catback.....headers too if they are in the budget. If the headers are not in your budget right now, you need to decide if you will be using them in the future (YES, you will LOL) because if you are going to go with longtubes you will need a different midpipe than the one you will have to use with the factory manifolds. That means do the headers now or buy shorties later. Choose the mufflers that you like the sound of as long as the cat back is stainless and 2.5"......I say 2.5" because you are not planning on forced induction.

The Mach comes with 3.55 gears instead of the GTs 3.27s so a gear change would not be as noticeable to you as it was to me and you already have more power than me.
