Exclamation Dyno Run Gone Bad?

I have a 2007 Mustang GT and it ran like it should before and after a dyno test but while testing it detonated or something. Could the dyno testers have made a mistake setting up the dyno or are dynos a non screw upable device? I just can not figure out why I had a problem mid run but the car was running fine before and after? I am going back today to talk to the owner and see whats what? I don't think I got any damage but how can I be sure? Does a dyno or can it be set to put to much load on an engine; I read that to much load can cause this too. Whatever thoughts yall have I would like to have.

Dynos don't load cars they way they operate in the real world, so it can result in wonky results sometimes.

Did you get any more info when you went back and talked to them?

Im pretty sure running the car on the dyno puts no more stress on the motor than running it down the street.

They said they could fix it and that it might need a tune. I took the tune off as far as the engine goes but left the tune for my gears and shift firmness. I hope all it was was that I had a 93 oct tune and the gas I have been getting is not really 93. I will try a run it on the dyno again this weekend and if I can not get in to dyno I will just run it wide open some and see what happens. Sence I took off the tune and the engine is back to stock I should not have any more problems; I hope!! If it still detonates I will have to go from there. Man I hope all it was was the tune.
