you will not lose mileage by removing the spoiler. If anything at all, you would reduce drag and actually gain some miniscule amount of mileage. Either way, you would never notice it.

IMO - the 99+ cars look so much better without the spoiler and they would be easier to wash and wax without the stupid thing on there. The exception is the cobra ducktail which looks awesome.

I don't know about the MPG thing but anyway lol. I guess there is a mixed opinion on what looks better, spoiler or no spoiler. Well I don't think I'll take mine off anymore because I do like the looks of it and it sounds like more trouble than it's worth. The real reason I wanted to take it off is because I have 2 neighbors w/ GT's like mine and I thought it might be a quick way to look a little different. I guess I'll have to get a body kit if I realy want that effect. thanks guys

but If I change my mind (which I do A LOT) around how much $$$$ do you think it would cost to get it patched and painted? like $250

There are two types of spoilers for the 99-04. the one with the points and the rounded one you could switch to be different

Without stock spoiler MPG will take a dump if you drive highway fast.
Are you serious? I hope not.

Stock spoiler is not made for downforce thus it doesn't increase drag, in fact, it reduces drag. Without it turbulences coming off the roof down the windshield and swearl behind the back, increasing the drag. A spoiler smoothes these turbulences, thus reducing drag. When angled, it could provide downforce. This is a well known fact, it is the reason many modern cars have spoilers, I'm surprised so many of you don't know about this. You don't have to drive fast to notice MPG either, highway speeds is enough, all you have to do is drive far enough.

Wow. I think you have some ricer in you at heart.

Should I get a bigger spoiler then? Would it increase my MPG and HP?!?!?

You seem to think that a spoiler will add MPG, thats a ricer statement.

The spoiler reduces drag on the vehicle, that's a fact. Lesser drag (read more aerodynamic) means less power required to propel the vehicle.

Now, you seem pretty ignorant. You're a ricer!
