Newbie needs some intake Help
Hey guys, first time here.
My brother just bought himself a 2007 v6 convertible a few months back. Now she's got a pretty mean coolant leak. Took it to his mechanic and they say its coming from underneath the intake. My brother is NOT mechanically inclined, but can't afford the repair, so he's recruited me to help him try to figure it out. I'm pretty good with a wrench, but these days work almost exclusively on motorcycles (rebuilt a few motors) and have never worked on one of these girls before. The Haynes manual kind of... well... sucks. So I just wanted to know if you guys knew of any good resources online that I could use to help me out with this job. I'm sure there's a step by step somewhere... which would be great... but even a good diagram would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!!

http://autoclinix.com/ has a link with pictures for a 4.6L V8 intake manifold repair.
The pictures look to be a Crown Vic, but the written instructions might be the same.
I'm not sure if the Mustang V8s have this, but the CVs have a heater hose running the length of the engine under the manifold which should be replaced when the manifold is replaced as a precaution.
Also, from what I've read on my CV forum (crownvic.net), it's about a 6-8 hour job replacing the manifold. I also think the 07 has the PI (performance improved) motor, so if it is the manifold, you'd need a PI one.

I did one of these on a 20yr old crown Vic the other day and man did I get robbed on the labor!!! Alldata never accounts for the age of the damn cars! Head over to an auto zone they can actually print you out the instructions, not sure whether you have to buy something or not. Not a real hard job just lots of things to unplug.
