fuel pump??
How can you tell when your fuel pump is goin out? normally on load when im at lower rpms i get a sensation like fuel just stops goin to the injectors and then it catches back up and continues on....i thought it might be a transmission issue but have since changed out my auto trans and torque converter, so now im thinking its fuel related....soooo....what would you guys think?
The way you actually tell if your pump is bad is by putting an external fuel pressure guage on the car. When you give the car a little throttle in neuteral, the fuel pressure guage should go up. If it doesn't budge or goes down, almost certainly your pump is bad. I'm not so sure in your case. The general street symptom is the car stumbleing, missing, shutting off or flattening at higher rpms. Often times at lower rpms there is no symptom. First things first. I would first add some 104+ octane booster to your next tank. See if that helps. If it doesn't help, I would replace your fuel filter. Point being is to do the little stuff firtst that will give you hints to what is actually wrong. For you, it could be a few different things, or a combo of things, and not necessarily the pump.
