Default Parking brake popping noise!

So, I hate to make my second post here a tech question, but here goes. I was parking my 2010 GT 5-speed today and when I set the parking brake, it made a loud popping noise. It seems to be working fine though. I even put her in 1st and tried to apply a little gas, and it's holding firm when it's set, and releases completely when I do so. I can't tell if it's my imagination now or not, but there may be just a bit more play in the handle. Anyone know what might have happened? It's eating away at me!

Sounds like one side of the cable snapped (or the caliper spring or lever), dont you have warranty on it?

Yeah, I have warranty on it. I just wasn't sure if something had broken, or if the cable had slipped or something, since it's still holding. I'll have to try to get it in to the dealership.

If it is indeed the parking brake assembly, it has a balance bar so if one side broke loose then at least the other would still be operational, you could also check by jacking up the rear end, putting on the e-brake and trying to turn either side to see which side broke loose. But take her in anyways, you payed for the warranty you must as well use it. RockNRolla : )
