clutch question...please help
just recently instaled a zoom street/strip upgraded clutch on my 97 gt with the help of my dad. clutch went in with no problems and works fine, the only thing is, this anoying rattle when the clutch is engaged (clutch pedal vibrates, and theres a continuous "squeak") i think the squeak is from the TOB but im not sure because its brand new. ive tried the quaderant adjustment trick but it dosent seem to take the rattle/squeak out of the pedal. also when shifting gears as i release the clutch out i can hear a tick or pop sound twords the top of the travel and thats when the ratteling squeak start. any help would be greatly appreciated
I have the same "pop" at the end of my pedal travel aswell. Along with the constant ticking. Its driving me nuts I think ill stick my hand up in the tranny to try and grease it. Also do you know if there's suppose to be a gap inbetween the tob and pressureplate or does it rest on it 100% of the time
Update: took the stang for a spin this morning and it drove like a dime. Clean shifts no squeak or popping noises. I noticed it starts to make noise when it gets hot. I'm thinking the grease job might do the trick.
Yeah man hell with it, just rip it apart again...best to replace it now rather than when you're on the road giving it a chance to cause a wreck or some crazy **** and put your whole ride in jeopardy. Anything can happen and anything is possible.
