Driveside window wont go up.
I was at autocross today adn had the window down the entire day. I got back in and the window wouldnt go up. I dont hear a motor click or any motor sound at all. The power locks work, and the passenger side window works as well.. any takers on what is wrong?

The only thing I can think of would be a wire coming loose. If you have a volt meter you can remove one of the battery terminals and put one of the voltmeter leads on the battery post and one on the terminal and have someone activate the switch. You should see a small voltage drop if the motor is still in the circuit. If the switch is not making contact or a wire is loose the voltage will remain unchanged.A digital multimeter is easier to see a voltage drop on than an analog. An ammeter is better still.

I've seen this before but it has always been a burnt circuit board in the window circuit. IF that is the case you can jump the motor with a 12-14 volt battery from a drill to get it up. Check the little black box hooked into the wiring for the motor inside the door. Open it up and see if the board inside is ok.

My girl has a taurus and she has the same lissue one time. Her window was off track and the motor and sensor were off. She hit a nasty pot hole and it moved it i guess. She ended up just banging the panel a couple times and it worked. I wonder if the autocross and violent shaking would have done that.

Yup that has happened on a both my 02 Mustang and my 95 cougar. From what I hear its pretty common with Ford window motors. If it stops working just hit the pannel a couple of times where the motor is located and give it another try. sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt. Its worked for me every time so far.

Sounds to me like you have a dead spot in your motor kinda like a starter can get if it happens again tap the motor with a hammer and you'll know if its the motor cause it will work.Ive seen it happen alot of times before and a simple tap will knock the motor off the dead spot and it usually goes up.But before that check when its not going up to make sure you have power at the switch and then at the motor when you hit the button

On my 98 there is a wire connections instead the door paneling on the driver side towards the latch part. i forgot to plug it back together after pulling off the door panel and afterwards everything worked but the drivers window. Of course it rained shortly after. Maybe there is some faulty wiring at the connection. Maybe you didnt do it but the previous owner might have so check it out....
