Default Guages Going Crazy

2005 4.6L 3V Mustang

Over the past week my fuel gauge for no reason with 3/4" of a tank went well beyond full (almost 3:00). I disconnected the negative cable and then reconnected and the gauge behaved normally! The following day the temp gauge would only read at about 10:00 where normally it sits at 12:00 (these are non numerical Roush gauges! Finally today, my tach is stuck at 2800 RPM as if that was zero!

Has anyone experience this erratic behavior and what was the fix!

Thanks to all who respond!!!

My gauges (stock) are also acting up. The first one to act up was the voltage gauge. Noticed it a day after i removed the battery to test an audio amp. First it read at the lowest, then it did a 180. Now it sits at 9:00 ant hasent moved for months. The temp gauge also acts up. It will stay in cold forever and sometimes it will show actual temp. The last one to act up was the fuel gauge. It did exactly what yours did. Now its sitting at around 3:00 I have no idea what it is.
