Talking Pinion seal?

I am getting some gear oil where the pinion seal meets
My car only has 47000 miles on it it's an 03 gt convertible
Is this normal? How do I stop from having to do it again?
Is there a stronger aftermarket part? Or should I just replace
Crush sleeve and seal? THANKS for the help in advance

No leak is normal....you should replace the seal. Mileage is only part of the equation, your car is nearly 10 years old now, some seals are bound to go bad.

Still thinkin on your convertible top issue.......

Do you mean the leak on either side of the rear window? Because I was gonna suggest that...

A Pinion seal leak should not be tolerated, it should be replaced as soon as feasible. Sometimes they can get catastrophically worse in a short time. I once had a small leak in an Oldsmobile rear end. It really leaked very little, but one day it catastrophically failed and leaked out all the lube in a short drive. It seized the rear end and the whole rear end had to be replaced. It would have been a LOT cheaper & easier if I had only replaced that damn seal.....
