Default shifting problems

My shifting is very hard in first and second gear. It goes in rough and i have to push hard on the stick. It also grinds alot when i put it in reverse. I'm thinking its the transmission but i hope its not. Give me some feedback on what it is.

Default RE: shifting problems

If there's an aftermarket shifter involved check the adjustable stops.I have a Pro 5.0 shifter and the rear stop came loose and wouldn't allow the trans to go into 4th or reverse without a lot of grinding. The clutch could be out of adjustment also but I would think that this would effect the engagement of all the gears.Unfortunately the next thing would be the shifting forks could be bent.
