I was curious am has a gauge cluster for the gt that reads 150 can it be installed on a 3.8 and it work as normal or is there something else it needs to function accordingly or is there something else?

they would probably be the ones to ask. What does the v6 read up too? I know my gt read at least 145 but can't remember.

It will NOT work. Just buy a GT and then you can get the cluster.

IT will not because there is no way for you to make it accurate. The speedo is not gear driven on the 2002+, its electronic and there is no way to adjust it to read accuratley with a gauge face that is not made for your set up.

so both speedometers are running the same current but shows differently for each car?... it would seem like there is a difference somewhere that could allow it to be used in either submodel. cause like the thunderbird in both base and sc the speedometer was able to be swapped with out changing the gear. the difference was in the electronics ie resisters and so on. has anyone actually tried doing this and fail?

Ok. The V6 and GT have different transmissions. Different computers as well. It will not work. Unless you want to spend a whole lot of money. The GT transmission for the new edge (99-04) do NOT have a gear, Therefore you need a GT computer, and it will not run your V6.

AM also has the same gauges that read to a lower number but look the same. Why does it need to read 150? Call Am and ask them to be sure if you need to.

spend the money on something that will get the car up to or over 150 before you worry about the speedometer.
