cant figure it out!!!
i have a 1994 ford mustang gt 5.0 i pulled motor an painted engine bay putmotor back in with a trick flow upper, lower intake and throttle body.it has a msd distributor,coil,6al box.i also put 21lb fuel injectors in it. i can not get the fuel pump to shut off as soon as i put battery in it turns on with key out of the ignition and there is a check engine light on without key in it.i also do not have any spark. i replaced the fuel relay up by rad over flow and ignition.still nothing .checked all grounds an plug ins still nothing.ANY IDEAS
You have a short somewhere in the ignition or fuel pump circuit. If you pull the relay, does the fuel pump stop? If so, then the problem is on the ignition circuit which means you'll probably find power in the whole for the relay's Pin 85 or 86. You shouldn't. If the fuel pump doesn't stop when you pull the relay, then the problem is on the fuel pump circuit and you'll probably find power in the whole where Pin 87 goes. You shouldn't. The whole for Pin 30 always has power since it is connected directly to the positive battery post (with a fuse in-between of course).
Most relays have pin numbers on them and even the schematic so you can easily figure out which pins are what and which wholes they go into.
The no spark issue may be a blown fuse, or maybe the coil pack or distributer isn't getting power or any number of things. There are probably other threads covering how to diagnose that problem.
I'd definitely find out what code is being thrown. It may be about your fuel pump or no spark issue, or it could be something completely different.
Good luck...
