Unhappy Acceleration issues 2002 Mustang GT

This usually starts in the morning, when i first crank her up, idle seems a bit "Jumpy" or a type of "shudder". 1st - 5th gear on heavy acceleration the car violently shudders or shakes. Car begins to warm up and it runs normal, accelerates like a champ. Idle is also consistent. I'm not real sure on what the problem could be anyone else have this problem and found a solution? I will say that I've recently replaced the clutch (tapped me for money atm so i'm trying to get answers before i blindly buy something lol), cleaned the IAC, changed the air filter, cleaned the MAF, and nothing. Thought it could be the belt, ran my finger on it doesn't feel slick or anything like that, could this be something behind the scenes that i can't relatively check on the fly without taking something off? Thank you guys for your time in trying to help me.

This sounds like a fuel related problem...

Have you checked/replaced the fuel filter?
I would start off checking the fuel pump and filter, then work my way up to checking the injectors

Mine also started doing it a couple days ago. Fuel system sounds possible, but my alternator started groaning about the same time. I'm gonna do the battery load test stuff tomorrow.

Has your fuel economy gone up after this started? From my experience this could be the air/exhausts sensor, when the car is cold it uses another (richer) fuel/air mix formula, so if the sensors are faulty they will give the wrong information.

After a while my check engine light came on. Went to autozone right after it came on, said misfire in cylinder one, could be a list of problems from that. I bought some 10 dollar fuel filter/injector cleaner and dumped it in the tank after filling her up, ran her hard, racing style at some points. Down to about half a tank and the check engine light shut off to my surprise ha. Running pretty well, fuel economy seems to drop but it can't count if I put the same amount as far as money when the price goes up 20 cents/gallon, also All4One My alternator started groaning too it only happened once though. In third gear it sounded real groany, accelerate then stop accelerating and it would go up then down like one of those zinger toys after about 2-3 times of doing it, it stopped. I guess i should put an alternator on my list of crap to get. Thanks for all of your answers guys, I really appreciate your time! I'll keep you updated if the light comes back on!

Ha. That's exactly what was happening. I cleared my codes after I checked everything and haven't had any problems since it happened a week ago. I'm going to stick with the words of my old neighbor..."If it still runs, DON'T TOUCH IT!" My battery is 4.5 years old as well so I'm sure if the alt goes, I'll have to swap it also.
Good luck!

Most cars do weird crap when you beat them when they're cold, you're not supposed to do that. I don't know how cold it gets where you are in Texas, but I know that when I had my BMW, I couldn't get on it at all before I got some heat in the tranny or I'd start smelling weird ****. My advice: don't beat your car when it's cold. Ford's modular motors aren't bulletproof, and when they break so does your piggie bank, so be careful.
