Exclamation Installing New Radiator

I'm installing a new standard radiator in my 68 6-cylinder. I read in an article that I should use a bottle of flush treatment on the new radiator. Is that really necessary since the radiator is new?

Engine was rebuilt less than 1,000 miles ago.

I haven’t heard that. A flush is primarily to get the gunk out of an old radiator and your engine block. If the radiator is new, then it shouldn’t have any gunk in it and therefor shouldn’t need a flush. Rebuilding a motor usually doesn’t touch the coolant passages in the block. So, with all that said, it wouldn’t hurt to flush the motor _before_ installing the new radiator so you don’t pollute the new radiator with the gunk in the engine block.

Good luck...
