a shift kit firms up your shifts.Instead of sliding into gear it will snap when it goes into gear.Theyre worth it but make sure you get a quality kit like TCI,TRANSGO something along those lines.

they also lengthen the life of a tranny[as long as you dont go to wild with the springs] by causing less slipage between shifts

What i mean by "SNAP" into gear is it feels solid you will know when it shifts trust me.A good quality kit will run around 100 bucks.Steer clear of those crappy B&M shift kits theyre junk!I have a TRANSGO in my C4 and its nice.Ive heard many people having trouble with B&M shift kits in fords for some reason not to mention theyre cheaply made.

My oppinion is to go with a TCI or a TRANSGO.Remember that speed costs and you get what you pay for.
