Low coolant sensor/coolant reservoir question
I have a bad low coolant sensor and when I went to the dealer he said I can't buy the sensor only, I have to buy the whole reservoir with he sensor in it! This is ridiculous!
Anyone know if the sensor is replaceable without changing the reservoir? And if so, where I can get the sensor?

Why bother? Its just an idiot light.
You should be checking the level of coolant, oil, and brake fluid every 2 weeks or so anyway, and before any long road trips.

RE: Low coolant sensor/coolant reservoir question
I don't know how the sensor works but if there's any moving parts, like maybe a float, take the reservior off the car and clean it with soap and water.Use a long brush to loosen any dirt that might be hanging the float.Shake the reservior around with the soap and water in it and see if it fixes the problem. If this don't fix anything, try unhooking the wires or using a jumper between the terminals and see if that extinguishes the light. If this doesn't work you can always raise the hood and check personally.Repost and let us know what you find out.
