Default What are my Cats worth

I just removed the 4 cats from my 94GT, I would like to sell them for recycle but don't want to get ripped off. Anyone know what I should be looking at for these? Also any ideas where to sell would be appreciated as well, called the recyclers but you have to have a permit, someone mentioned Ebay in the scrap metal area.

I had a pair off my 05 gt i sold. Took them to a scrap yard and got offered 20 each. Went to another place across the street and got 45 each. Not sure if there is much of a price different in our cats or not, but that gives you a rough idea.

I thought if you scrapped them they just paid for the materials and not the function, therefor how dirty or poisonous they were wouldnt matter?

I could be wrong though

Looks like the value all depends on where you go
Thats from 2011 but i doubt prices have changed much

Good to know, Im gonna go with what your guys think, I'm just assuming the age is a factor but now that I think about it, there's rare earth metal in the cats

it all depends, if they are still usable you can get more for them on craigslist or ebay, if you going to scrap them i'd check around at the different scrap yards and see what they are giving for them.

well after calling around and getting a lot of questions asked about where I got them I found a scrap yard that gave me $50 for them, seemed pretty fair to me considering they were just taking up room in my truck. Cats are a pretty hot commodity here hence all the questions I got, in fact a dealer here just had 29 of them removed from cars in one night. It was kinda obvious where mine came from but guess they can't be too careful.
