Starts, but will not idle at all
Hi, 1st post here. My son has a 1995 Mustang 3.8v6 with 5-speed.
6 weeks ago, local shop replaced the computer and car has thrived since then. Came home last night everything was a-ok, got in car this am and it would start up fine, but removing foot from gas it dies. Can't get it to idle enough to even slip into reverse.... If we keep foot on gas, it does not die....no vacuum leaks that I can find (or hear), air filter fairly clean. Plugs good, wires 6 weeks old.
Does this car have an IAC or Camshaft sensor on it? There is no stored code at this time, however; my son said before the shop replaced the computer, there was a code for this camshaft sensor, but it is not showing now. If it is that sensor it appears to be a bear to get at & a special tool to replace it correctly.
I am used to working on Saturns and keep relating stuff to that vehicle type.
Any clues as to where we should start?
