Drag racing with a stock tr3550/tko
I figure this would be the best area since my question is only with regard to the transmission and not a mustang.
I've since abandoned my idea of doing a t5 swap on my plymouth duster. While i think it may have worked(about the weight of a coupe foxbody), i didn't want to risk it.
So here i am with a tko/t5 bellhousing and before i abandon it all for a t56(and make my wallet cry) i want to see what kind of experience people have with racing a stock tko/tr3550(no proshifting/faceplating). Because my car is a pro-touring/weekend strip car, i don't want to do anything that would make it worse for rowing gears.
Does everyone have trouble shifting at high rpms or is it solely when powershifting? The engine i have now revvs to 6500-7k max and i don't want to be missing gears all the time.
Side note: hoping a good discussion can stem from this so i can check out the classifieds. lol
