Default TRANSMISSION ISSUES GALORE!

Ok hi! I know this sounds crazy but i have a 66 Mustang as my daily driver and it has some issues! Here's what i have....

66 Mustang Coupe
- 5.0L from an 87 LX convertible
- T-5 from the same car

Issues.......

1. Whining! It's not terrible....it might even be normal? I get some whining from the tranny in the first 2 or 3 gears as i approach 2000rpms. I've been told this could mean my bearings are going? I'm going to keep an ear on it to see if it gets worse.

2. It's a little jerky as the clutch engages into first. Might be a little normal? I might need to drive better? Could be something mechanical?

3. I now have leaks. I'm seeing transmission fluid on the ground just on the driver's side. I'm thinking because of the off center location and the little drips i see it's comming from the spedo cable.

What i'm thinking.......

I want to go ahead and replace everything i need to so i don't have to do this again. The gaskets are cheap enough. Should i buy the rebuild kit and do the bearings while i'm at it? Is the whining something called a syncro? How many seals do i need to replace to be sure i get everything. Here's what i'm thinking....

Spedo cable gasket thing and the tail bearing thinger? HELP PLEASE>>>>PICTURES WOULD BE AMAZING>?@#)(&U#@ I'M TRYING TO FIND A TUTORIAL(r*#weq()*

i LOVE YOU GUYS (AND GALS)

Wish I could help more but I'm not knowledgeable yet to give good advice, but you will get more answers if you post this question in the Fox section. Someone there will know more. Good luck.
