Default rebuild failure?

I am attempting to rebuild my 5.0. i had the crank turned .010 and .010. I assembled the crank and that went well. I got the pistons in and just torqued the rod caps. Now I cant turn the crank whatsoever. I checked the plastiguage. The clearance is within spec. what gives? I measured everything. I am truly frustrated

Just to check the basics. Do you have the chamfer on the rods facing the right way? Did you set the crank end play? Bearings are the right size? Did anything go together hard?

All these things and after you take everything apart again, try turning the crank after installing each rod. This way you won't have to tear everything apart again.

I am reusing the stock pistons as they are the TRW (factory) forged units. i will have to check that the rods are all in correctly I was too frustrated last night to figure it out so I quit. nothing went together hard.. everything rotated when the rod bolts were finger tight, but after torquing them to spec I couldnt budge the crank.

I bet that you have one or more of the rods in wrong. You have what is called a chamfer on the crank, if you look close you will see it where the rod journal mees the counterweight, it is not a perfect 90 degree angle, instead it is slightly rounded. Next look at the rod with bearing installed, you will see that one side of the rod is machined to match up with the chamfer.
Look at the arrow in this image they refer to the radius which is what I am talking about, don't pay attention to the oil hole chamfer they refer to.
