Default Map/Overhead Light won't shut off

Hi Folks. I got my 2010 4.6L GT Premium recently, Shelby Gray coupe. Its a hoot to drive; I love it. Everything has been great but I noticed yesterday that my map lights are on. Both map lights. I push the buttons and they stay on. Once I park the car, they eventually shut off, I assume because the car is programmed to shut off all lights if the door is left open or something like that. I can't figure out if there is another button I should be pushing? I tried moving the panel dimmer control up and down to no avail. Is there another switch. These lights serve as the overhead light switch in the coupe so I'm guessing there's another switch somewhere. Can anyone help? Thank you!

Next to the headlight switch is a rolling dial. There is a notch felt when turning it.....back it off a bit and you should be ok. That also controls the dash light brightness. Turn it off, but the lights always take a bit to shut off after closing the door. Could be one of the door switches in the latch is sticking.

All depends about when the lights are staying on as to whether or not there is an actual problem.

When you say the lights stay on is it just after you remove the key from the ignition and before you get out? After you get out they will stay on unless you hit the lock button on your remote.

if they stay on while you are in the car, put the key in the ignition but don't turn it. That should shut them off while you are in the car.

Otherwise they are programmed to stay on for up to 1 minute when you take the key out of the ignition or open and shut the door.

Thanks for all of the help. The problem is corrected. I think it was the rolling dimmer switch and I had not rolled it down sufficiently. Appreciate the help.
