Default Paint is chipping!

I had perfect finish on my 01 since I got her from the dealer. But now I got a lot of chips, just from regular driving. I wonder if there is a recall on my paint? What can be done to stop chipping, short of repainting?

the dealer might have given the car a cheap paintjob right before he sold it.

get a carfax on it to see why it might have been repainted.

Its more than likely that its from pebbles on the road kicking up and hitting car. It doesnt have anything to do with a cheap paint job. All cars will have chips on them in time. Unless your talking peeling, thats a different story. Then yes its a cheap paint job.

the chariot has turned into a pumpkin... all cars get chips from driving near SUVs and big rigs. nothing you can do except stop caring.

dead bugs can cause paint chips also, if you let them stay on the paint for too long the acidity in their guts can eat through clearcoat, then the paint is exposed to the elements and chips away.

They do make the clear plastic sticky crap. It's like a 4" wide piece of tape that sticks to the hood. Works really well, and you can't see it.
